arnel pineda really rocks! he has a very good and strong voice that could caress one’s soul.
despite criticism on his ongoing transformation (his phonetic trainings, looks and overall package makeover) of being the frontman of journey because they say he wants to be “americanized”, i do beleive that arnel is doing it for the band and to make his fellow filipinos proud.
the band journey has its own legacy, through its music, thus it requires a lot of hard work from its band members especially a new one such as arnel. then for the sake of the musicality and overall performance of the band, arnel would not refuse but will willingly do anything to be the best that he can be.
i really doubt that he ’s trying to imitate steve perry because i really believed that each artist has its own signature sound no matter how “similar” their vocal style is.
good luck arnel, and continue to rock our world as you sing faithfully with journey…
