the eye movie jessica albaEarly this morning, my wife and I sat down and see Jessica Alba’s English version of the Hongkong movie Gin Gwai entitled “The Eye”.

The movie was shown here in the Philippines 6th of February (US showed it January 31… bad move). Checking IMDB, looks like the film hasn’t been shown in Germany (May 31, 2008). They will like it.

This movie is scary sh**t (for a child)! There are some scene that made me jump off my sit… :)

We’re suppose to watch it last night, I got (a little) scared and decided to watch it in broad day light and last night we decided to watch 27 Dresses instead.

Let’s take a few qoutes from the movie before we proceed:

Sydney Well – “I want to see the world like everyone else”

Sydney Wells: I see…
Dr. Paul Faulkner: …what? Dead people?

The movie stars Jessica Alba, Alessandro Nivola, Parker Posey, Francois Chau, Tamlyn Tomita (and arlo gilbert — just kidding). It has a couple of nice tag lines. My favorite is ” How can you believe your eyes when they’re not yours?”

The movie is about a woman who is blind since age 5. She received an eye donor which made her see what ‘the special eye’ can see… like ‘death’, spirit and soul, and some times warns about the future.
The Eye was directed by David Moreau and Xavier Palud; written by Sebastian Gutierrez, based on the film “Gin Gwai” by Jo Jo Yuet-chun Hui, Oxide Pang and Danny Pang;
